In Dishonored 2, dealing with Kirin Jindosh non-lethally requires players to neutralize him using his own invention in the Clockwork Mansion. Once Jindosh is knocked out and strapped into the electroshock chair, players will quickly realize that the device lacks sufficient voltage to operate. Powering the machine presents a unique environmental puzzle that requires managing the laboratory's limited power distribution system.
Understanding the Laboratory Power Draw
The Grand Laboratory operates on a strictly limited power grid that distributes energy to different platforms. Activating specific laboratory configurations drains electrical power, which prevents the electroshock machine from charging properly. Players must configure the surrounding platforms to select options that require the lowest power draw.
Reading the Clues in Jindosh's Lab
To figure out the exact configuration needed, players can examine a nearby chalkboard located within the laboratory space. The chalkboard details the power consumption figures associated with each configurable platform, such as Optics, Anatomy, and Pyrotechnics. By reviewing these notes, it becomes clear that selecting the platforms with the minimal energy requirement will leave enough excess voltage for the chair.
The Puzzle Solution Steps
To solve the puzzle, head over to the control consoles located on either side of the laboratory floor. Interact with the first panel and select the Anatomy platform configuration. Move to the second panel and select the Optics platform configuration.
Activating the Electroshock Machine
Once both the Anatomy and Optics platforms finish moving into position, the power meter for the electroshock chair will fill completely. Walk up to the main control panel adjacent to the chair where Jindosh is secured. Pull the lever to activate the device, successfully completing the non-lethal objective without alerting extra guards or causing fatal damage.
