Ghost of Tsushima offers players a diverse collection of gear sets tailored for different playstyles, but few are as defensively potent as Gosaku Armor. This legendary outfit rewards players who favor staggering enemies and maintaining continuous health during massive battles. Unlocking this gear requires completing a multi-stage Mythic Tale that spans across the island's key locations.
Starting The Unbreakable Gosaku Mythic Tale
To begin your quest for this legendary outfit, you must first reach Act 2 of the main storyline. Once Toyotama is accessible, head to Akashima Village and speak with the musician named Yamato located near the southern entrance. Listening to his tale will officially initiate The Unbreakable Gosaku quest and reveal the history behind the armor.
Liberating the Six Key Farmsteads
Acquiring the armor requires gathering six distinct keys given by villagers as tokens of gratitude. Four of these farmsteads are located in the Izuhara region, including Aoi Village, Kuta Farmstead, Ohama Fishing Village, and Yagata Farmstead. The remaining two locations, Iijima Farmstead and Koshimizu Farmstead, are found in the Toyotama region.
Clearing each farmstead involves stealthily eliminating Mongol forces and rescuing innocent hostages from danger. Once every hostage is safely secured and the forces are defeated, a grateful villager will hand over their key. Obtaining all six keys is necessary to open the secret door leading to the armor's final resting place.
Claiming Gosaku Armor at the Akashima Hilltop
With all six keys in hand, open your journal map and track the quest marker in the Akashima prefecture. Head toward the large rocky hill located east of the Old Togo Rice Fields to discover a sealed stone door. Use the keys to unlock the entrance, then navigate the winding mountain path using your grappling hook and climbing ledges.
Follow the lit lanterns until you reach the shrine altar at the top of the peak. Opening the chest rewards you with Gosaku Armor along with the matching Gosaku Headband. This gear significantly boosts your overall health, increases stagger damage, and restores health whenever you defeat a staggered opponent.
